Jailer 2 worldwide box office: Rajinikanth film reported to pass ₹800 crore
What happened
According to a Hindustan Times headline, Rajinikanth's film Jailer 2 has earned a worldwide box office total that the outlet describes as Tamil cinema's first ₹800-crore blockbuster. The headline also says it has surpassed the lifetime collections of Chhaava and PK.
When it started
The topic started trending on 2 November 2026 (UTC). The report does not give the date of the earnings figures.
How it spread
The story comes from a Hindustan Times report surfaced through Google News. The only detail available here is the headline, so the full article's breakdown of collections and sources could not be checked.
Why it matters
Interest is driven by the Rajinikanth star factor and the claim of a record for Tamil cinema. Box office totals are usually reported by trade estimates, so the figure is best read as the outlet's reported number rather than an official audited one.
